Creating New Types of Traceability Links

You can enter a type directly into the Link Type column, or populate the list with link types for re-use.

1. Open the Traceability Links tab of any object.
2. Click the Types and Grouping tool and select New Link Type.
3. Enter a Name for the link type and, optionally, a Comment to explain its purpose. The name will appear in the list in the Link Type column.
4. [optional] If you want to view the new type in the PowerDesigner Resource Editor, select the Open Resource Editor checkbox.
   All extensions are stored in PowerDesigner resource files. For detailed information about working with these files, see Customizing and Extending PowerDesigner > Extension Files.
5. Click OK to exit the dialog and return to the Traceability Links tab.

   The new type is available for selection in the Link Type column.
