Administering PowerDesigner

The chapters in this part explain to adminster the PowerDesigner environment through the repository.

• Controlling Repository Access
  The repository administrator is responsible for controlling access to the documents stored in the repository, by creating users and groups and assigning them rights, permissions, and profiles.
• Customizing the PowerDesigner Interface
  You can customize the New Model dialog to guide model creation through templates and use profiles to hide types of models, objects, and object properties, and to customize menus, commands, and preferences.
• Deploying an Enterprise Glossary and Library
  An administrator can deploy a glossary and a library of enterprise reference models, which will be pushed to and automatically updated for all users. By default, only administrators can add models to or edit the library but you can provide access to other users using the standard repository permissions.
• Deploying Shared Resource Files
  You can store PowerDesigner resource files (DBMSs, target languages, and extensions) in the repository and automate their deployment to your team. Resource file sharing helps you to ensure that all your team are using the same DBMS or other target with any appropriate extensions.
