Select Maximize Data Throughout for Network Applications, then select OK.
For a transaction rate of 30, the CPU usage decreases from approximately 100% most of the time to around 50%.
On Windows 2003, you can make further improvements:
Go to Start/Manage Your Server.
Select Add or Remove a Role.
Highlight Application Server (IIS,ASP.NET), and select Next three times. You may need the Windows installation CD to install all the necessary files.
In addition to decreasing CPU usage, this change increases the working-set size of the EAServer 6.0 process during runtime, from approximately 50MB to 1GB. 20 times more application data is available to EAServer, and the data can be accessed more quickly from physical memory than from the hard drive.
