Two precompiler options control binding, the -p option and the -b option. These options affect only Embedded SQL statements that can use persistent binding. (Refer to Table 9-1 for a list of statements that cannot use persistent binding.)
The names of the -p and -b options
differ on some platforms. To find out the name of these options
on your platform, refer to the Open Client and Open Server Programmer’s
Supplement.Also, the -b option of
Embedded SQL version 11.1 and
later differs slightly from that for previous releases. Refer to your
Software Developer’s Kit Release Bulletin and
Open Server Release Bulletin for more information.
