Verifying That Servers are Running

Verify that the servers are running.

Prerequisites

Before starting the server, make sure you have stopped, then started the services related to the server.

Task

If you have already started the server, do not run the command a second time. Running it more than once can cause problems.

From a UNIX command line, set the environment variables.
- In the C shell:
```
source ASE_install_location/SYBASE.csh
```
- In the Bourne shell:
```
ASE_install_location/SYBASE.sh
```
Show all SAP ASE-related processes that are on the system:
```
$SYBASE/$SYBASE_ASE/install/showserver
```
