(Local) \pipe\identifier_1\[identifier_2] (Remote) \\computer_name\pipe\identifier_1\ [identifier_2] “\pipe” is a required prefix to all pipe names. identifier_1 and identifier_2 are unique names that conform to the eight-character MS-DOS naming convention. identifier_2 is optional; however, each pipe name should be uniquely defined.
