Explanation

This error occurs when characters in the client application's login record cannot be converted to the Open Server character set. For example, if the client's character set is utf8 and the Open Server character set is roman8, some characters belonging to utf8 may not be converted to roman8.

Action

Run the client application through the Ribo utility. Review “Login Record” for any question marks, which indicate characters that cannot be converted. Either remove those characters from the client application or change the Open Server character set.
