Multi-path replication can improve replication performance as long as transactions can be divided into parallel streams, and do not have to be serially committed across different streams.
You can improve replication performance by:
- Dividing transactions into parallel replication paths to reduce congestion. You can divide transactions according to parallelization rules such as transaction attributes or derived data values. For example, you can divide transactions by the session ID on the primary database or by the user who originated the transaction.
- Dedicating paths to specific objects such as tables or stored procedures.
- Dedicating a Replication Server to each path.
- Allocating dedicated paths or less congested paths for priority replication.
