Determining Service Pack on Windows Platforms

Determine the current service pack system level and build number on Windows.

  1. Select Start > Programs > Accessories > Windows Explorer.
  2. Select the Help menu, and click About Windows.
  3. Find the Service Pack number on the Version line.

    In the following example, xxxx is the build number and n is the service pack number:

    Version 5.0 (Build xxxx: Service Pack n)
