On Windows If your operating system requires a service pack, install it before you install Replication Server. Contact your operating system representative for a complete list of service packs, or check the latest Replication Server release bulletin for your platform. First, you must determine which service pack operating system level and build number are installed on the system.
Do not use a service pack that is earlier than the version suggested for your operating system. If a service pack has been superseded by a newer service pack, use the newer service pack.
Determining service pack operating system level and build number
Select Start | Programs | Accessories | Windows Explorer.
Select the Help menu, and click About Windows.
Find the Service Pack number on the Version line.
In the following example, xxxx is the build number and n is the service pack number:
