Make sure your network devices can communicate before you install Sybase IQ.
Sybase IQ uses networking software whenever the client and server components are installed on different systems. Use the ping command to and from another computer to verify that the server where you plan to install Sybase IQ can use TCP/IP to communicate with other devices on your network.
