Apply any operating system patches before you install Sybase IQ. Check with your operating system vendor for information on the latest operating system patches.
You must install these patches before you run a GUI server install:

If you do not install these packages, the installer may not function correctly. If you experience problems with an install, apply these patches, and re-run the install. You can find these packages in the ms-redist-* folders on the Sybase IQ installation media.
Do not use a patch that is earlier than the version
suggested for your operating system. Use the patch recommended by
the operating system vendor, even if it supersedes the patch listed
under “Platforms and operating systems”.
