List of things to check if the Hybrid Web Container
is not connecting to SAP Mobile Server.
Check the Hybrid Web Container connection settings configuration on the device
Correct Persistent BlackBerry Connections Settings
Perform
these steps if BlackBerry connection setting information persists on the setting
screen, after re-installing Hybrid Web Container:
- From the BlackBerry home screen, enter the
Hybrid Web Container.
- Select the Settings menu on the
Messages screen, and go to the Settings screen.
- Select the Restart Client menu to
start the client.
- Exit the Hybrid Web Container, and go back to the
BlackBerry home screen.
- Select the Hybrid Web Container application icon on the
home screen.
- Select Delete from the home screen
menu.
- Follow the instructions to delete the application, and restart the
BlackBerry device.
- After the device has restarted, re-install the
Hybrid Web Container. The old setting information is
removed.
Is the SAP Mobile Server name DNS resolvable?
Try the SAP Mobile Server name first.
If that does not work, the DNS may not be resolvable, Try the IP address
instead.
Is the SAP Mobile Server name reachable through the Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP)?
If you cannot ping your SAP Mobile Server name, make
sure that you are on the proper network and that your VPN is established and
verified as working properly.
Are Hybrid Web Container ports to SAP Mobile Server going through the firewall?
Check to see whether the
specific ports used by Hybrid Web Container to
SAP Mobile Server are going through firewalls. In
a Web browser, enter http://servername:port/tm
(the default port is 5001) to verify the messaging server is listening on the
specified port.
Can an HTTP connection be established?
If the Hybrid Web Container attempted to connect to
the SAP Mobile Server and failed, verify that the HTTP connection is
working by going to a website on your device's browser application.
Check settings in SAP Control Center
- Verify that the user name exists on
SAP Mobile Server. If it does not, create it in
SAP Control Center.
- Verify that the user has at least one
Hybrid App assigned to them. If not, assign a
Hybrid App to the user in .
- If the device ID is listed under multiple user names, you must
remove all but one user name. Search for the Device ID in
SAP Control Center in .
- Verify that the user name application ID configuration on the
SAP Mobile Server matches the
Hybrid Web Container application ID.
Check the moca log on the device
The moca log on the device is a good resource for debugging a
Hybrid Web Container connection problem. If you have physical
access to the device, connect it to your computer (PC or Mac), and use third party
software to retrieve those log files. For example, you can browse the mobile device
and extract the moca log file with:
- iPhone – iPhoneExplorer
- Windows Mobile – Windows Explorer
- Android – Android AVD Manager
Check the Hybrid Web Container connection settings configuration on the device
Verify that another user has not previously registered with this device from the
Application Connection tab of SAP Control Center.
