.NET Environment Problems Affect SAP Mobile Server

Problem: When installing or upgrading SAP Mobile Server, certain .NET applications which are required by SAP Mobile Server, such as OBMO.exe, do not run.

Explanation: There is a problem with the .NET environment which prevents running any .NET applications on the SAP Mobile Server. You see a message in the Event Viewer similar to: "The type initializer for System.Transactions.Diagnostics.DiagnosticTrace threw an exception."

Solution:
  1. Uninstall all .NET versions.
  2. Uninstall all VC ++ Runtime versions.
  3. Restart the system.
  4. Re-install SAP Mobile Platform.
