Create a new BlackBerry Push Service configuration that specifies the
delivery method for
service users.
Typically,
push notifications are routed to the MDS connection service as push requests.
BlackBerry push notifications alert offline users to the availability
of new items awaiting retrieval on SAP Mobile Server.
Push notification uses an IP connection only long enough for the Send/Receive data
exchange to complete. BlackBerry Push notifications overcome issues with always-on
connectivity and battery life consumption over wireless networks. Configuring push notifications is just one
part of the BlackBerry environment setup.
- Obtain the MDS connection service URL.
- Open the BlackBerry Manager, then from the Explorer
View, click
.
- Click MDS Services, and copy the
MDS Connection Services Server URL.
- In SAP Control Center,
or
Application Settings, ensure the Notification Mode
is
set to
either
Only
native notifications or Online/ payload push with
native notification, using the MDS service URL
you recorded.

Note: If you configured Online/ payload push with native
notification, allow a few minutes for the delivery or
notification mechanism to take effect and before the value in Pending Items
in SAP Control Center changes
