A standby disaster recovery environment serves as the new production environment
when the production environment is completely lost.
- Install two data-tier nodes (or two MS clusters): one for production, and one for
disaster recovery. Back up the database files from the production environment to the
disaster recovery environment. See Backing up the Data.
- Install the disaster recovery server nodes and production nodes in a cluster. Allow
the disaster recovery server nodes to remain stopped while the productions nodes are
available.
