Cluster Properties

Cluster properties let administrators manage server configuration settings for all nodes in the cluster to ensure smooth data exchange between the server and client.

Cluster property changes that do not require a server restart will be automatically synchronized to all nodes in the cluster. A message is displayed for any changes that require a server restart. Servers that require a restart are also flagged in the Server List. Perform a restart using SAP Control Center or the Desktop shortcut (by stopping, then starting), as restarting from Windows services does not guarantee the changes taking effect.

• Configuring Management Port Properties
  Management ports in SAP Mobile Server process incoming administration connection requests from SAP Control Center. Management ports use IIOPS by default, though IIOP can be configured as well.
• Replication
  Replication synchronization involves synchronization between SAP Mobile Server and a replication-based mobile device application. Synchronization keeps multiple variations of the data set used by a device application in coherence with one another by reconciling differences in each. Reconciling differences before writing updates back to the enterprise information server (EIS) maintains data integrity.
• Messaging
  Messaging is a synchronization method used to maintain data integrity on device client applications. It uses a JMS service to upload and download data changes to and from the SAP Mobile Server cache database. Messaging-based synchronization ports implement a strongly encrypted HTTP-based protocol using a proprietary method.
• Enforcing OData Application Registration
  The Administrator can require OData applications to register with the SAP Mobile Server cluster.
• Upgrade: Configuring Data Change Notification Components
  Configure the behavior of Data Change Notification (DCN) components in the cluster. You can configure DCN to accept HTTP GET and POST requests to support applications developed with versions previous to SAP Mobile Platform 2.2. By default, the current version of SAP Mobile Server only accepts HTTP POST requests for DCN.

  To optimize SAP Mobile Server performance across the cluster, configure performance properties.
• Configuring SSL Properties
  Configure SSL certificates and security profiles to facilitate Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption for communication ports in SAP Mobile Server.

  Configure and tune HTTP ports and some general properties.
• Configuring Cache Properties
  A configuration cache acts as the distributed memory used by all nodes that are member of a cluster. Configure general properties for this cache.
• Configuring Server Log Settings
  Server logs collect data that enables you to monitor system health. Configure the server log settings to specify the amount of detail that is written to the log.
