Client load balancing improves capacity
and performance of the Unwired Server cluster, when servicing mobile client
requests.
With load balancing on client connections:
-
Unwired Servers in the cluster can share the client workload,
improving the efficiency of services to client devices.
-
Clients have a common point of access, independent of any
particular Unwired Server instance.
There are two types of client load balancing to consider:
- Simple load balancing – For simple load-balancing needs, you can deploy either one Relay Server, or a load
balancer appliance, to implement client load balancing on a single network
node.
Load balancing with one Relay Server or load balancer
- Clustered load balancing – For higher capacity or higher availability, you can deploy a Relay Server cluster,
with or without a front-end load balancer appliance.
