Home Options

Home options indicate what to show on the Mobile Sales home screen and whether to add your Mobile Sales contacts and appointment activities to your personal contacts and calendar (PIM integration).

Views

Max Recent Item indicates how many recent items to show for each object type: accounts, contacts, activities, leads, and opportunities. The default is 5.

Show/Hide

You can show or hide the following fields or facets on the Mobile Sales home screen:
  • Today's Activities
  • Date
  • Activity Object
  • Opportunity Object
  • Lead Object
  • Analytic Object

Integration

Option Description
Message Box Integration Off by default.

After initial subscription, turn on to indicate that all new activities, leads, and opportunities that are assigned to you appear in your BlackBerry message list. You can select a message, which opens the Mobile Sales application and displays the object's fact sheet.

Tip: If you store and keep many e-mail messages, you could run out of memory if you turn on Message Box Integration due to the increase in the amount of messages in your message list.
PIM Auto Mode Off by default.

After initial subscription, turn on to indicate that all new Mobile Sales contacts become personal contacts and all new appointment activities become personal calendar entries. If off, you must indicate which Mobile Sales contacts to add to your personal contacts, and which appointment activities to add to your native calendar.

Once integrated, if you edit the information in one place, Mobile Sales automatically synchronizes it. Changes are synchronized between Mobile Sales and native entries once the SAP system accepts the data.

If you change data in your native contacts or calendar and the SAP system rejects the changes, the entry gets reverted back to the original data before you made those changes.

Note: In Demo mode, Mobile Sales cannot synchronize the updates because the device is not connected to the SAP system.

Debugging

The BlackBerry Event Log provides valuable information for application troubleshooting. Your system administrator may ask you to look at or copy the Event Log (and paste it in an e-mail message) to assess the necessary actions. To view the Event Log, go to the BlackBerry home screen, then press alt + lglg.
