Starting Sybase Mobile Sales

Once you install the Sybase Mobile Sales for SAP CRM application on your device and connect to the SAP system, you can start the application.

Prerequisites
Note: If you plan to run Mobile Sales in Demo mode for evaluation purposes, skip these instructions and refer to Running Mobile Sales in Demo Mode.
Task
  1. From the BlackBerry main screen, press the Menu key, then navigate to the folder that contains the Mobile Sales application.

    By default, Mobile Sales is installed in Downloads. Once Mobile Sales is installed, you can move it to a different location. If you reinstall Mobile Sales from a link or URL, or using Desktop Manager, your BlackBerry device remembers the installation location.

  2. Enter the SAP account and password.
  3. Press the Menu key, then select Log In.

The Mobile Sales application begins synchronizing data with the SAP system. It can take up to 30 minutes or longer to perform the initial synchronization with the SAP system, depending on the data set size for your subscription. A progress bar displays, and you cannot use the application during this initial synchronization period. Once the initial subscription is complete and the progress screen closes, the Mobile Sales home page becomes active and you can use the application.

If you do not see data downloading from the SAP server, view the Sybase Settings log to verify your connection information is correct and that you are connected to the SAP system.

If you verified that you are connected to the SAP system, the subscription may have timed out or failed:
  • If the subscription timed out because the server did not respond, the Mobile Sales application unsubscribes and closes. Open the Mobile Sales application and log in again.
  • If the subscription fails, check Notifications for the failure message. From the notification, you can launch the login screen and resubscribe.
