Enabling Mobile Sales Database Encryption

To encrypt the Mobile Sales database, content protection/encryption must be enabled prior to device users subscribing (logging in) to Mobile Sales. The BES administrator can also enable device data encryption; however, BES administrators cannot disable a device user's ability to modify this setting.

If the Mobile Sales application detects that content protection is enabled, it encrypts the Mobile Sales database. If content protection is disabled during subscription, the Mobile Sales database does not get encrypted. To encrypt the database post-subscription, device users need to unsubscribe to remove the existing Mobile Sales database, enable content protection, then resubscribe to Mobile Sales.

  1. Go to Settings > Options > Security Options > Encryption.
  2. Select Enable.
    Make sure memory (SD) card encryption is disabled.
  3. Save the changes.
  4. Set and verify the password.
