Creating a Rule

Create a rule using the Administration Console of Sybase Control Center.

Only a database owner, or a user or group with create rule permission can create a rule.

In the Administration Console view, select ASE Servers > Compiled Objects > Rules.
Select New.
You see the Create Rule wizard.
On the Introduction screen, select the server, database, and owner of the new rule.
Enter the name of the rule.
Enter the expression that is used to evaluate the data. You can use any expression that is valid in a where clause.
(Optional) Click Preview to see the SQL statements for your command.
(Optional) Click Summary to verify your selected options.
