The system security officer (SSO) creates the default system encryption
password. Adaptive Server encrypts keys using the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm.
The system encryption password is encrypted and stored in the database.
If system encryption passwords are too short or easy
to guess, the security of encryption keys can be compromised.
Note: Keys encrypted using the system encryption password
cannot have key copies.
- In the Administration Console view, select .
- Click System Encryption Password.
- Select New.
You see the Add System Encryption Password wizard.
- Select the Adaptive Server and database containing the keys that the system encryption password encrypts.
- Enter the new password, and confirm it.
