Data Change Notification Fails after Upgrade

Problem: Data Change Notification (DCN) fails after upgrade.

Explanation: Sybase Unwired Platform 2.2 only accepts POST DCN requests by default; the GET DCN method is no longer accepted. Previously Sybase Unwired Platform accepted both GET and POST DCN requests. After you upgrade, Data Change Notification (DCN) components will not work until you enable the HTTP GET method for DCN through Sybase Control Center.

Solution:
  1. From the Sybase Control Center left navigation pane, select Configuration
  2. In the right administration pane, click the General tab.
  3. From the menu bar, select Components.
  4. If you want Unwired Server to be backward compatible with DCN code written previous to version 2.2., select Data Change Notification and click Properties
  5. Select the Enable HTTP GET method text box. By setting this property, developers do not need to update the code of existing applications.

See Sybase Control Center for Sybase Unwired Platform, the Configuring Data Change Notification Components topic.
