In Unwired Platform, an application user is an identity registered as
the user of one or more versions of a device application. An application user can have
multiple devices, but a single user accessing two different applications counts as two
application users.
When
a user is on-boarded the identity becomes visible and manageable in Sybase Control
Center. The process varies, depending on the application type, the registration type,
and the version of the client runtime:
- For native applications using client runtime version 2.1.2 or
later (for Android, version 2.1.1 or later), an application user is
automatically registered when user credentials are accepted in the client
application.
- For manually registered native applications using client runtime
version 2.1.2 or later (for Android, version 2.1.1 or later), an application
user is registered when the application connection is registered in SCC.
- For native applications using client runtime versions earlier
than 2.1.2 (except Android), an application user is automatically registered
upon first successful package authentication.
- For native messaging applications using client runtime versions
earlier than 2.1.1, an application user is automatically registered upon first
successful subscription after manual registration (activation).
- For Workflow container or Online Data proxy applications using
SUP 2.1 or later versions of container or client runtime, the application user
is registered upon application connection registration in SCC (manual) or upon
successful registration by the user using the client application
(automatic).
Once registered and onboarded, the platform administrator can view the user name
and security configuration that authenticates the user. In addition, the administrator
can remove nonexistent users.
