New Device Framework APIs

Device Framework APIs include UI as well as non-UI components that allow you to customize the device user interface built with Device Application Designer. The Device Framework APIs also provide methods to influence the screen flow or data binding.

New Unwired Server APIs

• Administration APIs: Sybase Unwired Platform includes a Java API that opens the administration and configuration of Sybase Unwired Platform to Java client applications you create. By building a custom client with the administration client API, you can build a custom application to support Sybase Unwired Platform administration features and functionality within an existing IT management infrastructure.
• Unwired Server APIs: Sybase Unwired Platform includes several interfaces that open specific features and functionality of Unwired Server for custom development. By implementing customized functionality, Unwired Server can better suit your business requirements.

  New Unwired Server API features:

  • Result set filter – filter data by using a custom Java class to manipulate the rows or columns of data returned from a read operation for a mobile business object (MBO). You can write a filter to add, delete, or change columns or to add and delete rows.
  • Result checker – use the custom Java class to implement custom error checking for EIS-specific business objects. For example, use an EIS-specific plug-in module to parse a return from the EIS invocation to generate logs and log the return to the server for administrators to take action.
  • Data change notifications (DCNs) – use an HTTP interface to immediately propagate enterprise information system (EIS) changes to Unwired Server, rather than use the built-in cache refresh mechanism configured by the Unwired Server administrator.
