Installation Task Flow for Windows Mobile

This task flow defines a path for installing Sybase® Mobile Workflow for SAP® Business Suite onto Sybase Unwired Server and setting up deployment of the Sybase Mobile Workflow client to a Windows Mobile device.

  1. Review system and device requirements. See Planning Your Installation.
  2. Install Sybase Unwired Platform 1.5.2 Deployment Edition. See the Sybase Unwired Platform 1.5.2 Installation Guide > Installation Task Flows.
  3. Upgrade the Sybase Unwired Platform version 1.5.2 installation to version 1.5.5. See the cover letter for EBF 18442.

    If you have previously upgraded your Sybase Unwired Platform version 1.5.2 installation to version 1.5.3, upgrade that 1.5.3 installation to version 1.5.5. See the cover letter for EBF 18442.

  4. Set up a Security Configuration on your Unwired Platform installation with the appropriate security configuration for Mobile Workflow in your environment. See Online Help for Sybase Control Center > Configure > Configuring Unwired Platform > Security Configurations > Creating a Security Configuration.

    Each user's user name in your system must match the user name for that user in the SAP back end.

  5. Authorize a particular user to issue workflow notifications to Unwired Platform. See System Administration for Sybase Unwired Platform > Enterprise Mobility > Data Refresh Data Flow > Data Synchronization and Data Refresh > Data Change Notification Data Flow > SUP DCN User Role.
  6. Install Sybase Mobile Workflow for SAP Business Suite on Sybase Unwired Server. See Installing Sybase Mobile Workflow.
    • Download and install the SAP Java Connector (JCO) files.
    • Configure your SAP ERP system to work with Mobile Workflow.
    • Run the installer from the installation media.
  7. Review the installation. See Reviewing the Installation.
  8. Register each device using Sybase Control Center so it can connect to Unwired Server. For each device, note the user name, Unwired Server name, Unwired Server port number, relay server farm ID (if applicable), and activation code.

  9. Assign the SAP Workflow to each device using Sybase Control Center.

  10. Install device prerequisites as needed. See Installation Prerequisites.
  11. Provision the Sybase Mobile Workflow client to the device.

    Personal/developer installations Copy the CAB file to each device to install. .
    Enterprise/large installations Use Sybase Unwired Platform to provision the application to multiple devices. Sybase Unwired Platform System Administration > Systems Administration > Device User Management > Device Provisioning > Afaria Provisioning and Device Management.
  12. Set up the server connection in Sybase Mobile Workflow clients on devices. See "Setting Up the Server Connection" in Device User Guide for Sybase Mobile Workflow for SAP Business Suite for Windows Mobile.
  13. (Optional) Set connection preferences in Sybase Mobile Workflow clients on devices. See "Setting Connection Preferences" in the Device User Guide for Sybase Mobile Workflow for SAP Business Suite for Windows Mobile.
  14. Activate the workflow package on the device. See "Activating the SAP Workflow Package" in Device User Guide for Sybase Mobile Workflow for SAP Business Suite for Windows Mobile.
  15. Use the workflow package on the device. See "Using the SAP Workflow Package" in Device User Guide for Sybase Mobile Workflow for SAP Business Suite for Windows Mobile.
