Navigate to .

Check Enable Server Discovery

Select Add.

Select the discovery method from the scroll menu.

JINI – an open architecture
that enables developers to create network-centric services
that are highly adaptive to change. JINI offers a standard lookup
service for discovery.

User Datagram Protocol (UDP) – a network
protocol that provides a procedure for application programs to send
messages to other programs with a minimal protocol mechanism.
Note:
If UDP is used, only servers on the same subnet as the
one on which Sybase Central is running are discovered.

If you selected JINI in the previous step:
-
Select the host of the JINI server

Select either the default host and port or enter
new ones

Click OK.

To add or edit a discovery filter, click Filters. Server
Discovery uses only the selected filters for its search. To specify
a filter:

Click Add.

Select Enable this Filter.

Select the target you want filtered, Host, Name, OS,
Platform, Port, Release type, Status, Version.

Select the condition: contains, does not contain, is,
is not, starts with, ends with.

Enter the condition string you want Server Discovery
to filter on.

Click OK.

Configure the ASE plug-in to discover clusters
currently running on the system. Use

Remove – to
remove a discovery service from the list.

Edit – to edit the settings for a current
discovery service.

Up – to move the selected discovery service
up the list.

Down – to move the selected discovery service
down the list.
