Installing the Windows Event Log adapter

The Windows Event Log adapter requires the Microsoft .NET 2.0 Framework.

The adapter is supported on Microsoft Windows XP and Vista.

If you want to use the adapter as a Microsoft Windows service, you must register the service using installutil.exe from the .NET Framework 2.0 by executing the command:


installutil WinEventLogAdapterService.exe

Note:

To uninstall the adapter as a service, run the installutil program with the "/u" flag:installutil /u WinEventLogAdapterService.exe

If you do not want to use the adapter as a Microsoft Windows service, then you do not need to do any special installation steps.
