Use the command-line to start Sybase CEP Server on a UNIX-like operating system.
On UNIX-like operating systems, the server is started with the command
c8-server.rc start
The file c8-server.rc is a shell script that sets the environment appropriately and then starts the Sybase CEP Server.
If you try to start the server directly (for example, with the c8_server command) and have not configured the environment properly, you will get an error message such as "error while loading shared libraries". This is an indication that the environment (for example, the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable) is not set properly.
