Developers will usually be most interested in the implementation details, such as the following:
Which languages (for example, C, Java 1.5, .NET3, Perl) Sybase CEP provides SDKs for.
Which functionality (for example, input/output, control, embedability, User-Defined Functions) is in each SDK.
This document provides information on each of these topics.
The first few chapters of this document focus on concepts. These will tell you what a Sybase CEP Engine is capable of doing. The remaining chapters focus on the "how", for example, how to write programs that will send data to the server or receive data from the server.
If you know that you will focus on a specific task (for example, getting data in and out of the server), then you may skip the detailed "how to" sections for other topics.
