Database Options for Column Encryption

Certain Sybase IQ database option settings affect column encryption and decryption; the default settings are not optimal for most column encryption operations.

• Protect Ciphertext from Accidental Truncation
  Set STRING_RTRUNCATION to protect ciphertext from accidental truncation.
• Preserve Ciphertext Integrity
  Set ASE_BINARY_DISPLAY to preserve ciphertext integrity.
• Prevent Misuse of Ciphertext
  Set CONVERSION_MODE to prevent implicit data type conversions of encrypted data that would result in semantically meaningless operations.
