Upgrading From an Existing Sybase Unwired Platform Version

Follow these procedures to upgrade from an existing Sybase Unwired Platform version.

You cannot install Sybase Unwired Platform 1.2 on the same machine as an existing Sybase Unwired Platform 1.0 installation. To upgrade to Sybase Unwired Platform 1.2, you must completely uninstall Sybase Unwired Platform 1.0 before installing version 1.2 on the same machine. If you do not want to uninstall the existing version, install version 1.2 on a different machine.

  1. Migrate any existing data that you want to save to a new location.
  2. Uninstall the existing version of Sybase Unwired Platform or install Sybase Unwired Platform 1.2 on a different machine than the previous version.
  3. Complete the installation prerequisites for the components you want to install.
  4. Install Sybase Unwired Platform.
  5. Perform postinstallation configuration.
