Monitoring multiplex state and status

The graphical detail panel is attached to the Multiplexes container in the Sybase IQ plug-in for Sybase Central. The graphical, topology view visually represents the entire multiplex environment. and complements the existing list view. The topology view is more intuitive and makes it easier to visually monitor the state of the multiplex environment.

The topology view consists of nodes and links. A node represents a multiplex server, while a link represents a connection between two multiplex servers. There is at most one coordinator node. Links only exist between the coordinator node and a secondary node, never between two secondary nodes.

You can rearrange the layout by moving nodes in the view, and the next time you display the topology view, the last graphical layout is restored as nearly as possible. (If the multiplex configuration has changed, the layout can only be partially restored.)

You can designate a failover node and perform failover using the topology view. For details, see “Designated failover node” and “Failover”.
