start_iq Database File Parameters

This topic lists the parameters of the database server/database file. You specify the database file after the server options in the command syntax.

start_iq database file parameters
Parameter	Description
-n `server-name`	Specifies the name of the database server.
database-file	Specifies the database file name. If `database-file` is specified without a file extension, Sybase IQ looks for `database-file` with extension .db. If you use a relative path, the path is read relative to the current working directory of the server. You can supply a full path. On Windows you can supply a path that conforms to the Universal Naming Convention (UNC) format: \\server\volume\path\file.ext

Warning! The database file must be on the same machine as the database server. Managing a database file that is located on a network drive can lead to file corruption.
