Determining the default collation

 Determine the default collation for your computer

If you do not explicitly specify a collation when creating a database, a default collation is used. The default collation depends on the operating system you are working on.

  1. Start Interactive SQL.

  2. Connect to the sample database.

  3. Run the following query:

    SELECT PROPERTY( 'DefaultCollation' );

    The default collation is returned.
