TCP/IP protocol

SQL Anywhere uses TCP/IP to connect clients to databases running on different computers.

When you use the TCP/IP protocol, you can secure client/server communications using transport-layer security and ECC or RSA encryption technology. See Client/server communications encryption over TCP/IP.
