When you change options settings, some of the settings take effect immediately, while for others to take effect you must restart the database.
This window has the following components:
User Shows the name of the selected user.
Show Provides a list of option types. For example, if you choose Database Options, only database-related options appear in the Options list.
Options list Shows the option settings and default values based on the type of options selected in the Show list.
Value Choose an option in the Options list, and then type or select the setting in the Value field. You can make the setting permanent by clicking Set Permanent Now. An option value cannot be set for an individual user ID unless there is already a PUBLIC group setting for that option. See Alphabetical list of options.
Once you select an option, you can use the buttons at the side of the window.
New This button is not enabled when you are setting user options. You must open the Database Options window to add new options. For instructions about how to open the Database Options window, see Setting database options.
Remove Now This button is not enabled when you are setting user options. You must open the Database Options window to remove options. For instructions about how to open the Database Options window, see Setting database options.
Set Permanent Now To change a setting for a user permanently, select an option from the Options list, type the setting in the Value field, then click Set Permanent Now.
