This page has the following components:
Choose a consolidated database Click this button to choose a consolidated database that provides the schema information for the synchronization model. The Connect window appears. Specify the necessary connection information for the consolidated database.
If the specified database is not set up as a MobiLink consolidated database, you are prompted to install MobiLink system setup.
Before installing system setup, you should read the topic for your type of consolidated database. See MobiLink consolidated databases.
The MobiLink setup script adds MobiLink system tables, stored procedures, triggers, and views to your database. These tables and procedures are required for MobiLink synchronization.
Click Yes to immediately install the MobiLink system setup scripts to the consolidated database.
For example, click Yes if you intend to deploy the synchronization model to the specified consolidated database.
The database user who runs the setup script has permission to update the MobiLink system tables, which is required to start the MobiLink server and to configure MobiLink. See Required permissions.
Click No to not install the MobiLink setup scripts to the specified consolidated database.
For example, click No:
If you only intend to use the specified consolidated database to obtain a schema and you have no intention of deploying to it.
If you intend to deploy the synchronization model to the specified consolidated database, but prefer to do so with the Deploy Synchronization Model Wizard.
If you prefer to run the setup scripts yourself after you deploy.
With the exception of the installation of the MobiLink system setup, no other changes are made to the consolidated database until you deploy your model. See Setting up a consolidated database.
The connection to the specified consolidated database is closed if you choose a different consolidated database, or when you exit the wizard.
The following fields are all blank until you specify a consolidated database, and then they are updated to show the information for the selected consolidated database:
Name Shows the ODBC data source name of the consolidated database.
User Shows the user name of the database user connected to the consolidated database.
Product Shows the type of consolidated database. For example, SQL Anywhere.
Version Shows the version of the consolidated database.
