Specifying this option forces all MobiLink encryption to use FIPS-approved algorithms. You can still use unencrypted connections
when the -fips option is specified, but you cannot use simple encryption.
When you use this option, FIPS-approved algorithms are used for connections regardless of whether you specify them or not.
For example, if you start the MobiLink server with the option -fips and the option -x tls(...;fips=no;...), the fips=no setting
is ignored and the server starts with fips=yes.
Separately licensed component required
ECC encryption and FIPS-certified encryption require a separate license. All strong encryption technologies are subject to
export regulations.
For MobiLink transport-layer security, the -fips option causes the server to use the FIPS-approved RSA encryption cipher,
even if RSA without FIPS is specified. If ECC is specified, an error occurs because a FIPS-approved elliptic-curve algorithm
is not available.
