All SQL Anywhere synchronization technologies provide two-way synchronization: changes made at the central database are propagated to remote databases and changes made at remote databases are propagated to the central database and hence, to other remote databases. MobiLink allows upload-only, download-only, and two-way synchronization.

Both SQL Remote and MobiLink allow the same data to be changed simultaneously at multiple locations and provide a means of resolving any conflicts.
