Installation requires completing the following pre-installation tasks, which are explained in the following subsections. You should skip those tasks that do not pertain to the option or options you have chosen to install.
1. Verify the platforms, components, and distributed software
2. Verify the space requirements
3. Determine JCL and system information
4. Determine CICS and DB2 UDB information
5. Determine compiler information
6. Determine Server Option information
8. Plan the security requirements
9. Identify the change control requirements
10. Back up the release libraries (upgrades only)
11. Determine the library names
