You can use the database access code from existing programs in your CSA. Whenever possible, use existing data definitions or code from other programs. We recommend that you use one of the sample CSA programs and SPAREA definitions provided on the Open ClientConnect API tape as a base for your own CSA.
CSA programming tasks include:
Defining input data pipes if the CSA retrieves results.
Using the CSA commands, such as GETMSG and RESCHECK, whenever appropriate. Appendix A, “CSA Commands” provides detailed information on commands.
Reading from and writing to the SPAREA that the CSA shares with Open ClientConnect.
Specifying error handling.
