The Client Option uses eight-character function names, while other versions of Client-Library™ use longer names. This book uses the long version of Client-Library names with one exception: the 8-character version is used in syntax statements. For example, CTBCMDPROPS has eleven letters. In the syntax statement, it is written CTBCMDPR, using eight characters. You can use either version in your code.
The following table explains the syntax conventions used in this book.
