Adaptive Server® Enterprise (ASE) is the relational database server in the Sybase client-server architecture used in mission-critical, transaction-intensive enterprise environments.
Component Integration Services (CIS) is an ASE feature that enables transparent access to a variety of other database management systems, such as DB2, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server. ASE/CIS enables users to access and maintain data throughout an enterprise and across heterogeneous boundaries.
