Chapter 14: Configuring Adaptive Server for Failover on SGI IRIX

Defining the resource group for the secondary node

From the GUI

  1. Select Tasks from menu bar.

  2. Click Resource Groups.

  3. Select Define a Resource Group.

  4. Complete the following fields:

    Field

    Description

    Failover Policy

    sec_staying_afloat

    The name of a previously defined failover policy

    Resource Group Name

    sec_rg

    The name of a previously defined resource group name

  5. Click OK.

  6. Select Tasks from the menu bar.

  7. Click Resource Groups.

  8. Select Add/Remove Resources in Resource Group.

    Name of the resource group to be modified

  9. Click Add and complete the following fields:

  10. Click Add, and complete the following fields:

    Name of resource to be added or removed

  11. Click Add.

  12. Once you have completed your entries, click OK.

From the command line

From the command line, enter:

cluster_mgr –f sec_rg_def
