Defining the logical volume resource for the secondary node

From the GUI

  1. Select Tasks from the menu bar.

  2. Click Resources.

  3. Select Define a Resource.

  4. Click Next and complete the following fields:

    Resource Type

    volume

    The type of resource to define. The FailSafe system includes predefined resource types; you can define your own resource types as well. See your SGI documentation for information.

    Resource

    x1v2

    The name of the resource to define.The name is the volume as defined in xlv(2) xlv_mgr –c ‘show all_objects’.

  5. Click Next and fill in the following fields.

    Device Group

    sys

    The group name of the xlv device file.

    Device Owner

    root

    The user name (login name) of the owner of the xlv device file.

    Device Mode

    600

    The device file permissions, specified in octal notation.

  6. Click OK.

From the command line

From the command line, enter the following:

cluster_mgr –f sec_vol_resource_def
