(CR #471417) Connecting to EAServer from a DBProxy client may cause EAServer to crash. This is a jConnect bug.
Workaround: To avoid this problem, either:
Run the jConnect script jcatalog.sql, or
Install a version of SQL Anywhere later than 10.0.
