When initially assigning weights, start with a weight of 0.50 for children of ACCRUE topics, and 1.00 for children of all other topics.
When assigning weights to children of topics that use the ACCRUE operator, you may select more relevant results if the children do not have overly high weights. For example, assigning all of the children of an ACCRUE topic weights of 1.00 causes all documents to have equal importance, regardless of how many of the children are present within the documents. The Verity search engine assigns equal importance to all documents containing only one child as well as for documents that contain all children, so you cannot distinguish between these documents when you view the selection results.
Assign weights between 0.80 and 0.20 for the best selection results.
