LDAP

LDAP is an Internet protocol for accessing directories in a distributed environment. An LDAP server stores the user information needed to establish connections between resources and grant access to directories, eliminating the need for client applications to know this information. Adaptive Server Enterprise Web Services enables client applications to access Web methods using LDAP.

Adaptive Server Enterprise Web Services supports LDAP version 3 servers. For more detailed information on using LDAP to enable user authentication and to locate Adaptive Server Enterprise data servers, see the System Administration Guide for Adaptive Server Enterprise.
